The 80G registration stands for ‘’non government Organization ‘’ registration in india.

The Basic criteria to be kept in mind for registration are as guided below -

• There should be no income generated from the business being carried.

• Should be either charitable trust or registered society

• Should maintain a book of accounts for receipt and expenses.

• There should not be any use of assets or income other than charity purposes.

• The organization should not be working for the benefit of only specified caste or religion etc.

The certificate of 80G is issued to non profit organization or non government organization[NGO]. The main objective of the certificate is to encourage donors and other people to donate more and more funds to such an organization for the growth, development and upgrade of society and its people.

The benefit for the donor is that he gets exemption in taxes upto 50 % and he needs to collect receipt of the amount donated and the receipt include name , date , PAN details of the person.
